sunday's done

i finally finished my scarf!! i had quite a few issues over the actual casting off the loom. my mistake was trying to do it from memory and not checking the youtube videos first!! in the end, it looks okay. i am slowly figuring out the crochet stitches needed to cast on and cast off. my mother would be proud. i will take some photos and share my finished products.

now i am going to start a little beanie cap as well as a small blanket (i might have to piece it together in the end, but that's okay).

i also finally finished one of the three books i was reading. and no it wasn't the shack!! it was a maeve binchly novel, quentins, that i liked a whole lot. i am going to look for the others related to quentins (tara road and scarlet feather). i'm sure our library has them. but i have so many other books in my bookshelf. and of course i really need to get myself moving and finish the shack. at this point it's become rather a joke to me. i talk about it so much and the not doing it is becoming a bit of a cloud over my head!!!

and i am going to start writing in my very old journal (from 1999). or i might just start a new one...i always mean to write everyday but never seem to keep up the momentum. the journal gets put in a corner or i forget to write over a few days and in its absense, i forget! thing is that i want to write but don't want anyone to pick up my paper journal and read it. the blog isn't so bad, since so few people actually read it. ;-)

  1. Can't wait to see the scarf! I need to work more with the looms - I've never quite figured out how to do a flat rectangle (scarf) on the round looms, just the same old hat pattern every time.

  2. I love all Maeve B's books. I have her last two still waiting to be read. She actually lives not far from my daughter (in a much more upmarket area I hasten to add)!

  3. SmrfChic, there are lots of tutorials on flat panel knitting on youtube. i used a long loom for my scarf, but plan to use my largest round loom for the blanket.
