recycling hurts

our township has recently revised its recycling policy. they've hired a private hauler to collect our co-mingled recycling once a week. eventhough we will have to pay more out of pocket for this, we like the idea and think it could work out (anything is better than the sporadic schedule that had the township collecting or us dropping it off). although i had to locate the information online thru our township's website since the recycling brochure never showed up in our mailbox (still hasn't), i managed to print up the information and we have quite a bit of recycle to go out this coming monday.
however last weekend, just hours before we were set to go to a holiday party for my moms club, i was in the garage trying to find the old recycle can. i reached my hand in to push what i assumed were just soda cans into the container and found a glass bottle instead. a BROKEN glass bottle that of course found MY finger!
OUCH!!
so yes, blood, yes messy, yes i was fine, eventually.
no stitches (though i probably could have used something more medical than the tight bandaid). it's nearly healed now, a week later, but it reminded me not to ever reach into a can and to be cautious when i recycle.
guess i can't deduct the price of the bandaids from my recycle bill?? ;-)
