layers...

layers, it's all about layers. not the onion layers in shrek, but clothing layers. it's been cold here in my part of the world. i spend a lot of time convincing the boys it's okay to wear an undershirt under their regular shirt. and that a hat is a good thing. and with my oldest son, that shorts are not a good idea when it's 20F. he's promised to wear a hat on friday when it will be in the single digits at morning bus time. and two (light weight) fleecey jackets.

i recall my own mother making me wear a hat to the bus stop and then whipping it off as soon as i was out of her sight!! i used wrap a scarf around my neck and head to keep my hair from freezing when i was in college. so, ya know, i've been there! ;-)
today is the 20th year anniversary of hubby and my first meeting. he wasn't feeling well so i didn't mention it in the morning. we tend to celebrate this date in a more low key manner, but usually we do something (at some point) for it. i remember the day (date) like it was yesterday!! :-)

**reposted to add a title, it was late**

  1. Happy Anniversary to you both. Is there a story around how you and where you met?

  3. 20* and they don't want to bundle up??? Oh my... I guess you can tell my kids are Californians then... If it's in the 30s when we have to walk to school at 7:30am, they are all bundled up - undershirt, long sleeve shirt, uniform shirt, jacket, mittens, hats, and scarves!
    Happy "date-iversary"! :)

  4. Hey send their hats and scarves to me -- the more layers the better. We're freezing here too. My hubby is like your kids -- the joke at work is that they know it's below 20 if he has a windbreaker on.
