pb or j

i saw an ad the other week in a current family magazine for these pb slices. the hook is that they're better than dipping your knife over and over into the messy pb jar and getting pb in the jam (jelly) jar afterwards. it's so much more appetising and hygenic apparently.

maybe it's just me, but i actually wipe the pb off the knife before dipping it into the the jam jar. and there are far worse things lurking in my fridge than pb in my jam jar. and that's just mixing food right, not terrible unsanitary. it's not like we licked the knife before putting it into the pb or jam jar. we save that for afterwards. ;-)

but it's just not right, peanut butter belongs in a jar (or a spoon)!!

and yes, i know all of this peanut butter salmonella scare is running rampant right now. they even pulled our favourite trader joe's peanut butter bars off the shelves. i talked to the manager who says they removed them to be safe and that of course i can return them to the store. but that their pb did not come from that plant in georgia.

we all have our vices....lol :-)

  1. Oh, that just looks disgusting!
I use a knife for the PB, a seperate spoon for getting the jelly out of the jar, and then the knife comes back into play for spreading. But I'm making 4 lunches at a go usually in the mornings, LOL

  2. smrfchic - what a great idea, a spoon and the jam....i make 3 - 5 lunches most mornings, but only 1 has the pb&j.

  3. that pb slice is just wrong! have seen them somewhere and thought it was weird. and i think using the spoon in the jelly jar is a good idea too, esp. if you are making multiple pbj sandwiches.
