it's a riddle

what pet is always on the floor?

that's what my son led with this afternoon when we started to play whoonu. i'm terrible at riddles, only slightly better at complex jokes and fairly horrible at punch lines. i do a mean knock knock joke if the other person is about aged 5 ;-)

so, mom, it's a riddle.
yeah, darling i got that.
do you know? what pet is always on the floor?
no, tell me please?
can you guess, just guess.
an ant?
no.
a dustbunny.
no, but that's funny mom. 
i give up.
you can't give up already. just guess.
a cat.
a dog?
it's a car-pet. do you get it mom?
(laughing) yeah, that's pretty funny, you're good at these riddles and jokes.
