feasting....

the kindergarten thanksgiving feast was held this morning. surprisingly this was my first one!! i met some other moms friends and we chatted while waiting for the kids to arrive in the cafeteria. five classes sang a song, each class sang or read a poem or song. then the kids ate! there was popcorn, pudding, corn muffins, and apple juice or water. it was fun!! :)

son-four had apple juice and popcorn. that's MY kid ;-) he's a card too, joking with his classmates. and not sat next to his best friend (oddly enough and they did just fine). i sat with his best friend's mom (also my good friend).

after the kids went back to class to play bingo (son-four won, he proudly brought home a sticker), P and i walked to our cars then stood in the damp november air (rain had stopped) and chatted. we're trying to plan their friend birthday parties, jointly i think. not sure how that will work!! ;-)

girl-child also had her thanksgiving feast at preschool (parents do not attend). she came home with a pilgrim girl hat (our first) AND a pink indian head band....AND hand strung beads!! i have turkey drawings happily hung on the wall in the dining room (one or two similar to the one pictured here).

hubby took off tomorrow thru till the end of the week. unusual for him, but a nice reprieve from work for him i think. we have heaps of errands to run. some will get done tomorrow morning. the rest tomorrow afternoon. all food shopping for turkey day is complete :-) son-two needs new black dress pants and new black dress shoes for his orchestra and chorus night in december.

i'm anticipating putting up the holiday lights and decorations. i was going to make a start but decided to wait till the day after thanksgiving for the more visible items (wreath on front door, red lights in the windows, faux poinsettias in the planters etc).
