tonight i was discussing with hubby that we have been doing nebs (breathing treatments) on our children since 1996. i am really over this up in the middle of the night, drag out the neb and the meds, sit out on the deck in the chilly night (or in today's case, evening) air and pray that the child improves enough to not have to go to the ER. i am over visits to the ER at 2am.he pointed out that long before i was doing nebs for our children, i was doing nebs for other people's children. ahh, "but," i pointed out, "at least with other people's children i didn't feel so attached or worried.". i did the neb, amidst crying and fussing, and then i cleaned up, charted and walked away. now i neb and watch (and yes, i still chart, we have a dry erase board with columns for times and meds, it helps keep things straight when 3 kids are on motrin, 2 are on nebs, one had tylenol all on the same day, today for example).
so my girl is sick. two of my boys are getting over being sick. hubby is home finally but worn out from lack of sleep and too much work. and i am just tired.
don't think i need a blog prompt for that!
and i did make it out to toys r us today, yippee!! :-)

Hugs it's awful to see our children suffer. So much easier to deal with in a professional capacity. However I recall when I was nursing it was difficult not to become attached to some children!
ReplyDeleteHugs mom - sorry they are not well. Used to need the nebulizer on a regular basis with Nicholas but still have it handy just in case.
