when llamas lay eggs....

perfect weather today, an ideal summer day actually! it was actually chilly sitting out on the deck late this afternoon....and we were happy of a bit of sunshine to keep us warm when we were outdoors.

we tramped around brandywine zoo, checked out the critters...and followed the map along with princess who found the macaw picture and matched it to the macaws in the cage. we touched a big old ugly snakeskin, made origami boxes, learned about the porcupine (named pepper, like our gerbil) and pet flower the ferret. the tamarins were cute and sassy (and hyped up on coffee we think). and the funniest thing was the big egg-shaped rock in with the llamas. ds1 had many kids (including princess) convinced it was a llama egg!! ;-)

then it was off to a very crowded grotto for pizza. the kids behaved while we waited for the ONE big table. we ate pizza of course, and fries and took an extra pizza home for later.

after pool and rest time, games and snacks, we had dinner, then presents (ds2 loved the star wars lego ships and the hershey bar best i think), then cake and ice cream.

deffo a fun day all around....still cannot get over that it's july and we have the windows open!! :)
