game on tuesday!!

i always try to keep the beginning of the week calm and easy! now that we're done camp, there isn't too much running around to do during the day. the kids and i can play games or watch movies or both. we've been playing a lot of zingo with the little ones and a new game of last word with the older ones. each is enjoyable in its own way :-)

the other week it was parchesi and hi ho cherry-o. i let them choose, and sometimes they drag out an old game or a new one! and just the other day we played two of our favourite brought back from england games, when we were chasing yellow balls around the bowl with hungry frogs (it's like hungry hippos only with frogs) or racking up shopping items in what we call the "shopping cart" game (it's labelled "shopping trolley" but i see it's now the "shopping list" game, definitely a fave here, all my kids have played and loved it and it's 10 yrs old now).

ds3 makes his own board games, with rules and pieces and sometimes a home made die :-) i have those saved and am convinced that he can be the next great game creator!!

so today we are playing homemade games....i'm curious to know what your family's favourite board games are (homemade or not)?
