changing perceptions

another wet and stormy friday! the last two days have been beautiful, so i guess i shouldn't complain (though i am going to anyway). i got halfway to preschool this morning and realised i had forgotten to give ds4 his morning med, so we had to turn around and go back for them! so we were late, i hate being late (i did call to let them know though). the classes were upstairs practising for their end of school endfotheyearevent (which is next wednesday). but ds4 did well, we dropped off his backpack and raincoat and went back up the stairs so he could join the class.

ds4's kindergarten orientation yesterday was fun. another mom was a little loud, but we all managed. a few of the teachers remembered me and recognised ds4. my kids have a family resemblance, lol :-) he's really excited about going to school there and keeps asking me "how many sleeps" (lol, he starts in september)

yesterday i had a bunch of things to write but couldn't get into google in the evening. so i sat outside for a bit while hubby plugged up the drill holes in the brick on our back deck (the holes the bees have been burrowing into to make nests). i had my ipod on for a bit, then the kids started singing to me and i went out to play catch instead ;).

on the way back from picking up meds this morning, i drove around a squished in the street animal. couldn't tell what it was till after i drove past. A SKUNK!! and my car stunk!! i am sure i didn't drive thru it (that's gross, sorry), but the smell must stick to things. i drove thru a bunch of puddles (not hard since it's been raining for hours). then i put the car in our driveway and hoped the stink would wash away. it did thankfully. we had a HUGE downpour and i am happy to say the car smells fine.

sil will be here tonight with a friend (a GUYfriend). she rang this morning to say they would be here around 6pm and could they bring the chicken for the grill. i'm thinking "what chicken" cos i was under the impression (as is hubby) that we were having pizza. we ALWAYS have pizza when sil comes to visit. she swears she misses american pizza (she lives in spain). we're still having pizza. but we're getting the chicken from the ILs anyway. i don't ask, i just say "thank you" and move on! lol :-)

haven't watched the new LOST yet, just watched last week's ep on abc.com. the dish went out and we got nothing when i went on to the dvr to watch. HOUSE was awesome last week. some great lines too. he's a hoot. guess they won't kill off the main character (ds1 thinks they will).
