it was nice to have a longer visit with my sil, who sometimes comes and goes very quickly. they had a couple of bad weather days this past week for their visiting touristy locales, but it sounds like he had a good visit his first time to the usa. and they visited all of the siblings and her parents (my ILs). sounds serious to me, lol!! ;-)
ds3 had a kempo karate bday party to attend this afternoon. he really enjoyed it. hubby is now convinced that he will be a good candidate for taking karate! i knew he would come around, lol ;-) i'm also thinking of signing him up for dance classes this fall, something to burn off all of that spare energy!
dd keeps asking if she can have her birthday today. she asks me this every morning. i have finally figured out that what she really wants in chocolate ice cream and chocolate cake. she's funny, eh? thankfully hubby's bday is this week and so she will have her wish for ice cream at least :-) he's having brownies for his cake.
and next sunday is a certain friend of mine's bday! she may or may not read this post, but she's having a party at our house on sunday!! :) her belated birthday present will be in august :-)
and one last item, i finally finished my book club book. i think i'm losing interest with this organised reading lark. i feel obliged to complete books. and eventhough i liked this last one, i felt unhappy reading it. i mentioned before taking a month off. i might do that. i'm not sure what i want from the book club. i think an online one (with a google type group maybe) might be a fun alternative. but i'm not sure if something like that exists. i know there are online websites that suggest books for existing book clubs. i suppose i could just start one ;-)
i've picked up diana gabaldon's breath of snow and ashes again. i started it a while ago but couldn't concentrate enough to read it. now i can apparently. i love the way diana gabaldon writes and so i want to savor each paragraph!

Glad you had a nice visit with you SIL. Happy Birthday to you birthday boys (I am so behind on blogs at.. trying to catch up! hope you all well.)
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
ReplyDeleteWe noticed that you were discussing book clubs in your blog. We have started a new online book club website where people can choose books, invite friends, and read and discuss books together. We are hoping for it to become an educational tool, and an online social space.
It's all pretty new and we are interested in having some people join, give it a try, and give us feedback on how they like it. Also, as we noticed that you have a blog, we are looking to see if anyone would like to review the site for us (good or bad) so we can get constructive feedback.
You can get there at:
