so in essence, not a lot.
i haven't had much time to upload photos or peruse the bloggy world. though i do try.
i love this blog and i am not abandoning it. but it seems to have become rather reclusive.
my IRL friends check out this blog to hear my latest thoughts and wanderings....
i've started a private regular journal online, i can edit those items out to share with various friends.
i've never been overly comfortable with everyone in the internet world knowing my business. i've always had an online persona. but it's still me. the profile and who is, all me. i might leave out a few details, but in the end, all me.
does anyone remember mIRC? many years ago, when i first got online, i used to meet friends in these chatrooms and we had such fun. this was when the internet was young, when there was only dial up and my OS was win 95 ;-) i only mention this since back then, everyone had a persona, everyone had a facade. we posted on message board and read the newsgroups and fanfic sites.
and i met made some great friends who lived far away and eventually got to meet them IRL.
it amuses me how times have changed. i do still know most of those friends from that time. and i'm still on the very first listserv / email list i ever subbed to in 1996, though we've moved long past listserv. but many of the same faces/voices are still there, many of whom i have met.
i don't know where this is leading me today....
the passage of time, the opening up of the internet and how things seem to be more public, (facebook comes to mind and real photos on many message boards, so as not to hide behind a false identity)....the internet is more savvy and much more part of everyday life.

Are you going to surprise me after all these years and tell me you are really a 50 year old balding man with a pot belly from Milwaukee? LOL - I'm still part of some of my original band of friends from the early days as well. I had Windows 95 and 'upgraded' to Windows Millennium - what a joke! But I digress. I enjoy reading your blog.
ReplyDeleterofl, yeah, well some of us have been around longer than others...and we lucked out and skipped right over millenium ;)
ReplyDeleteI think the blog world is great. Peculiar. But wonderful. What else would have made me record a list of cheeses.. and persuade my family to join in the lunacy?
