dazed and confused

the day after christmas every year, the same thing hits me. day after christmas and i am disappointed. how did this happen again? the day came and went with such speed and wildness that i feel like i want to rewind to last week and do it again. all those weeks of anticipation and planning and it's OVER already!
but i DID enjoy the leading up to the day. i did embrace each and every school event. each cookie and bought presents, even the 3 hrs of wrapping paper and two rolls of tape.
i just wish the day itself lasted longer!
i spent the day watching my wonderful children enjoy themselves. they played together, they laughed, they smiled, they were happy. we were ALL happy and smiling. i played ponies with my daughter, tumbling monkeys with my boys, directed knex assembly, watched frosty and frosty returns and doctor who. i made cookies and pie and casseroles and coffee.
and i spent most of the day in my fancy pink jammies.

it was good!!
