christmastime in the suburbs

well, it's over. i'm a bit sad. all the build up and then poof, gone for another year.....

we had an enjoyable christmas weekend. i took the older 3 boys out to breakfast on sunday morning to a local restaurant. it was nice seeing the staff in light up santa hats and wishing us a "merry christmas". i hadn't realised how much i didn't hear that (usually it's "happy holidays"). loads of families were there, chatting, eating and laughing. we saw a mom from preschool who also happens to be ds3's speech teacher. we chatted for a bit, then saw her again when we stopped at cvs to pick up meds!! hubby then took the boys shopping. after dinner we headed to candlelight service at church. first time we have taken ALL of the kids. everyone loves them, so i guess it's not so bad that babygirl doesn't stay put. she looked adorable in her santa dress, and kept taking her shoe off and showing it to the pastor ;-)

christmas day started way too early for me, but it was SO much fun!! bright eyes and big smiles and laughing, yelling and squeals of happiness.after presents and breakfast, the kiddies played. we lounged, had dinner eventually, watched movie night with our new CARS dvd and ate popcorn from our new popcorn containers.

after the littlies went to bed, hubby and i watched a couple christmas themed shows on tv, then watched Sleepless In Seattle! i let him have football on earlier, he's not usually into those movies ;)

a good day, a fun christmas! :-)

and today?? day after christmas shopping, sales at kohl's!!
